Aqua Ver is the first in a series inspired by combinations of concepts pertaining to the seasons and the elements. Aqua Ver is the combination of Spring and Water. She is young and impulsive, the source of Spring showers on a sunny afternoon. Aqua Ver celebrates life with the exuberance of youth. Leslie wanted to convey the joie de vie (joy of life) a young adult feels when she first experiences freedom and independence. The multiple lines of action coupled with a playful defiance of gravity give Aqua Ver an almost electrical energy.

Leslie sculpted Aqua Ver in pearl white Premo polymer clay. The eyes are acrylic and the hair is synthetic fiber. Leslie sewed the Lycra costume directly onto the fully-sculpted body. This piece is hung by strong but nearly invisible14-pound test monfilament and can be suspended from a display stand or the ceiling.
